Technical Architect – Wintel / Bristol, Reading, Birmingham, London, Wales, Surrey, Essex, Milton Keynes / Up to £47,000
As Technical Architect you will join a World leader in their field of IT, you will sit within the Project Services Team. The workload covers a wide range of activities from small changes to existing systems to large transition projects. This is an exciting job opportunity to work on a variety of security cleared projects.
Job role:
- As a Technical Architect you must have proven Wintel design expertise
- Solid background in Microsoft Server Technologies, to include MS Server (up to 2012), MS Exchange 2013, Active Directory Services along with other core Microsoft Technologies.
- Have a very high technical competence in Microsoft server infrastructure.
- Follow and adhere to procedures in the pursuit of day to day work, i.e change control, permit to work and handover to support documentation.
- Complete work to a high standard to include, the creation and amendment of support documentation.
- To communicate effectively at all levels including client engagement.
- To be able to technically lead and mentor junior colleagues
Technical Architect further technical experience:
Solid background in server support and Microsoft terminology and concepts.
Microsoft Server Technologies 2000 to 2008
Microsoft Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007/2010
Microsoft Active Directory
Microsoft Windows Terminal Services
Citrix XenApp 5 onwards
Disaster Recovery of Windows Servers
Virtualisation, VMware ESX Server 3.x and above
Have Industry recognised qualifications, MCP, VCP etc.
Desirable Skills:
2 or more of the following skills set would be an advantage.
– Design Experience.
– Microsoft Clustering.
– Blackberry Enterprise Server.
– Citrix Server Technologies.
– Microsoft Virtual Server Hyper-V.
– VMware ESX Server 4.x and above.
– Backup Technologies – Symantec Backup Exec, Symantec NetBackup, Arcserve.
– Anti Virus software, MacAfee etc.
– Powershell Scripting
