Technical Architect – Unix | UK Wide | £60,000

This is an exciting job opportunity where you can develop your skillset and experience supporting a wide range of technologies, you’ll join a UNIX team within technical services, in a Global Technology Operations business unit.

Hybrid working, 1-2 days per week on client site or local office.

THE BASICS:

Within this role, you will be required to develop and own Low Level Designs in line with High Level Designs, together with carrying out peer review of LLDs. You will provide pre-sales support and cost estimates on designs, transitions and implementations on various infrastructure programmes.

As Technical Architect, you will lead Technology Focus Groups to advise on best practices and keep up to date with emerging technologies in order to mentor and enable knowledge transfer to less experience colleagues.

You will identify, assess and mitigate technical issues and risks, define and design Disaster Recovery procedures, advanced Shell scripting & Automation techniques, performance Analysis and Proposal Documentation.

KEY SKILLS:

You will have excellent experience with virtualization concepts (Oracle VM, VMWARE, AIX LPARS) and the ability to design High Availability Enterprise Unix Solutions (Red Hat clustering, Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), SUN Cluster, PowerHA (HACMP).

You will have demonstrable experience of design across a range of projects, new builds, tech refreshes, migrations together with experience of multiple Unix/Linux operating systems.
