Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently working with a growing and talented, award-winning software and content provider based in the heart of Birmingham.
As the Software Developer, you’ll join a talented team of like-minded individuals working with the latest cutting-edge technology with exposure to large-scale cloud-hosted applications.
THE BASICS:
Developers & Engineers with experience in one or more modern general purpose programming languages such as PHP, C/C++, Python, JavaScript will be sought after.
You will work as part of a team on a large-scale application that supports services in use by major global media companies along with being responsible for the full development lifecycle, from design prototype through to development, testing and deployment.
THE TECHNICAL STUFF:
As the Software Engineer, you’ll have knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms as well as object-oriented development and design patterns along with experience with UNIX/LINUX systems (Shell Scripting), Relation Databases (MySQL), Version Control Systems (GIT), TCI/IP fundamentals and web technologies.
You’ll also be working closely with other team members in an agile environment, sharing knowledge and delivering to rapid timescales in a dynamic environment.
THE DESIRABLES
Any experience with of media technologies such as video codecs (H.264 etc.), audio codecs (AAC etc.), delivery protocols (RTMP, HTTP streaming such as HLS etc.) and video tools (FFmpeg etc.) will likely result in an immediate interview request.
If you have experience with any of the following; Packet Analysis Tools (tcpdump, Wireshark etc), Computer Vision, Machine Learning, NoSQL databases, AWS Cloud Services, GitLab or Docker then this job could be the one for you.
