Python Developer | £500/day – £700/day | Immediate Start | London & Remote
We are looking to hire a team of Developers, initially for a 6-month contract renewal on a 2-year program. This is a hybrid-working contract with an expectation of being in a London based office a couple of times a week – however, our client-partner will also consider full remote working.
We have various roles with the need for Python, C#, .Net Core, and experts with any Angular experience & capability is a plus.
Just so you are aware, several recent interviewees failed to answer basic questions in C# and SQL.
TECHNOLOGY:
An in-house .NET based application layer integrates the inhouse proprietary systems.
The team is focused on designing, integrating, and supporting systems for Middle and Front office. Its calculation engine leverages supercomputing concepts and runs on a Microsoft HPC Server Grid. The infrastructure uses a combination of technologies including MS SQL Server, & C#.
The ideal candidate would be a senior developer with exposure to pricing or simulation-based risk systems in the past. Knowledge of derivative and cash-based products is desirable but there is no requirement to have in-depth understanding of how these are priced. You will be able to understand functional requirements and translate these into technical solutions. Knowledge of Docker, Python and Azure would be a bonus.
SKILLS:
The ideal candidate will be able to design solutions for middle office risk management systems and related products, providing clear technical scope and test documentation, whilst coordinating change control, including software management, testing and production releases.
Developers highly competent with Python Development, large scale software project development in C# with the Microsoft development stack and full SDLC experience and TeamCity, Jira, GitHub, Visual Studio are likely to receive an immediate interview request.
Practical experience of Unit Testing, Integration Testing & development testing skills, with a good understanding of microservices architecture and working on large scale applications would be ideal.
Experience of working in an investment banking (or similar) technology environment would be desirable.

CONCLUSION:
Developers with excellent communication skills – able to simplify technical jargon, who are also results driven, with a strong sense of accountability – able to prioritise and structure their own workload according to delivery requirements will be of interest.
This is an immediate job opportunity for contractors with strong decision-making skills, and the ability to demonstrate sound judgement, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Financial knowledge or having worked for investment banks – with any financial instrument knowledge would be a bonus.
Experience of interacting with quantitative users to resolve complex business problems and strong problem solving skills, numerical skills and an analytical mind-set will hold you in good stead.
