Network Engineer | up to £45,000 | South East & Home Based

Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are working with a key client; a well-established IT Service Provider based in Surrey as they seek the services of a Network Engineer to support their clients’ network infrastructure.

THE BASICS:

Network Engineers who can assist with the scoping of technical aspects, the creation and updating of documentation for Service Operations deliverables where appropriate, and the creation and presentation of written or oral Operational information as required, will be of interest.

As Network Engineer, you will work closely with the Service Desk, Managed Services and Customer Transformation Projects relating to the Service Operations environment. Responsibility for the Networking Monthly ISO 27001 checks will also make up part of your role.

Monitoring, identifying and highlighting the health and status of all networking components relating to the Service Operations environment including any under-performance issues within the infrastructure is important.

On-site attendance at HQ and at customer sites when required is important, and if you can assist in root cause analysis & on security risk treatment; technical security controls : with the ability to assist visitors to Datacenters (including pentesters as required) you will be highly sought after.

THE TECHNICAL:

Engineers with at least one Cisco or Networking Certification will be of interest and if you are ITIL qualified with years of experience in an Operations role for a client facing commercial organisation, you are likely to receive an immediate interview request.

THE DESIRABLE:

Experience of technical environments; Data Centre hosting, Virtualisation (server and desktop), Networking, Authentication, Storage, Security and Monitoring, as well as Windows Server & Solarwinds will be highly desired.

THE CONCLUSION:

Network Engineers with a good hands-on, pro-active approach to their work, with good documentation and presentation skills should apply, and if you are an enthusiastic team player, with solid report generation and statistical analysis experience – willing to learn new technologies, coupled with logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, then please apply ASAP.

Supporting the 24/7/365 escalation team by providing cover for networking (rota based) will also make up part of your role.

The package is as follows: £42,000 + on call (£28.50 per day on call)
