As a Senior Java Developer you will join at the beginning of this open source journey, taking an active role in shaping future plans and technical direction. You will be part of a fast-growing and pioneering working environment, delivering new and innovative open source projects.
Java Developer Job Role:
As the Senior Java Developer, you will undertake development activities in TDD, BDD, Scrum and other Agile practices. You’ll be responsible for coding, testing and maintaining software systems whilst mentoring and building the development capabilities of the agile teams.
Java Developer job pre-requisites:
As Senior Java Developer you will have strong and demonstrable understanding of Object Oriented Programming and its design patterns with experience in Java gained through developing in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD)
Ideally you will also have knowledge of; build automation tools like Maven, Gradle, a strong understanding of REST, relational database management systems (RDBMS) and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) with a proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Experience of contributing to open source projects or knowledge and familiarity with GDS standards and/or NoSQL databases would be advantageous
