IT Disaster Recovery Project Manager| Remote | £500/day
This is a fantastic contract job opportunity for someone who has previously ensured the ability to recover IT systems in the event of a disaster.
This critical role will involve creating a (DR) disaster recovery plan creation and review; testing of required applications, preparing for and managing the DR test events, maintaining required documentation pre and post DR tests, and managing application recovery in the event of a production disaster.
THE KEY ELEMENTS:
As the IT Disaster Recovery Project Manager, you will partner with leadership, subject matter experts, and management to develop detailed and comprehensive disaster
recovery plans for each required application.
In acting as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes and assisting in managing recovery during a crisis event as needed and assist with incident response, you will determine critical business processes and establish resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster. You will also document situation reports and lessons learned for actual incidents and exercises, establish and maintain detailed DR communications and command and control plans and establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures and understand their interdependencies.
Project Managers who can maintain policies and procedures for the DR program, manage change control process to keep all plans updated for changes in recovery team members, facilities, services and systems and perform regular reviews and updates to all program activities to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and enhanced operational resiliency should apply today.
THE ADDITIONS:
If you can provide disaster recovery planning, testing oversight, and governance; provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as required, when a business disruption occurs and provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention; schedule and lead all DR exercises and complete required documentation pre/post DR exercises, you are likely to receive an immediate interview request.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
If you have many years of experience in computer technology and/or information systems, backed up with foundational knowledge of servers, applications, databases, storage/backup and networks and a deep knowledge of IT project management, we’d like to hear from you. Individuals with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to present on disaster recovery planning, testing and results, as well as possessing critical thinking skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously will be sought after.
THE CONCLUSION:
This 6-month contract Disaster Recovery Project Manager position will suit someone with strong management skills including previous experience in a DR role.
The company HQ is based in the Midlands, but you will not be required to travel. However, for the first 2 weeks, you may need to spend 1 day in the office, meeting stakeholders.
