Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for one of our key clients; a managed cloud, infrastructure and IT consultancy provider based in Surrey.

 

The ideal candidate will provide reactive support and proactive maintenance for Private Cloud infrastructure and resolve technical escalations from the Service Desk at 3rd Line level. System Centre; (SCOM, SCSM, SCCM). Skype for Business and Teams, Office 365 (including SharePoint Online), Citrix & Linux are all core competencies for this role.

 

If you have worked for or with an MSP in the past, you will be of considerable interest to our client.

THE BASICS:

 

Infrastructure Engineers who can design and implement changes, make recommendations to improve working practices and understand and can report all security threats, vulnerabilities, and breaches in accordance with ISMS and risk policies will be of interest.

 

Providing root cause analysis of major or recurring incidents, attending the data centres or customer sites when required; delivering technical requests within strict timeframes and managing escalation of incidents within defined SLAs will all make up part of your job role.

 

If you can create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and services both for technical staff and end-user customers we’d like to hear from you.

 

Supporting the 24/7/365 escalation team by providing cover for network related issues managed by an on-call rota (frequency subject to resource capacity) is also important.

 

 

THE PRE-REQUESITES

 

Several years of experience working in Infrastructure or Cloud support role will hold you in good stead and if you have recently worked in a customer or user facing role, coupled with an understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, ICMP, DHCP, DNS) and experience of supporting data centre environments, managing and supporting you should apply today.

 

Exposure to Virtualisation and Clustering (Hyper-V / SCVMM), Server Roles (Active Directory, DFS, NPS) , Storage (SAN / CSV), Microsoft Office365 and Azure and an adherence to security bestpractice at all times is likely to result in an immediate interview request.

 

THE DESIRABLES:

 

Engineers with monitoring solutions experience (SolarWinds), Public Cloud (Azure/AWS)  and / or databases (SQL / SSRS) knowledge, as well as scripting (PowerShell), Azure AD Modern Authentication (MFA) and/or InTune working knowledge will be sought after.

 

An ITIL certification (foundation) or Microsoft Azure AZ-103 certification will also work in your favour but is not a must.
