Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently looking for a Data Architect to support a key client, based near Camden, in London, as they continue to undertake major transformational changes. 

This is a great opportunity as our client continues to embark on an exciting journey; improving multiple products, platforms and solutions.

THE BASICS:

As Data Architect you will be responsible for leading the Data Architecture with a focus on the delivery of one of our clients’ most critical data programmes, helping to own and to gather the technical requirements – working on several business-critical projects. A solid understanding of Data Governance, MDM and Data Modelling is essential. You will be working closely with other domain architects, technical leads, and software delivery teams.

THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

If you are experienced in working with Data Catalogs, Data Management, Enterprise Data Warehouse / Data Lake, Data Integration and Master Data Management solutions, with an understanding of/in setting up Data Governance; maintaining ETL, Data Profiling, Data Quality, Data Modelling and physical/virtualised on-premise managed service provider (MSP) and cloud (IaaS, PAAS, SAAS and iPaaS) solution architectures then you are likely to receive an immediate interview request.

Individuals with strong modelling skills in UML, coupled with working knowledge of various industry standard toolsets from various vendors, with experience in both Agile and Waterfall management practices and of working in both programmes and projects (and a clear understanding of the difference between these) should apply today.

THE OTHER STUFF:

Data Architecture:

Design data models and metadata systems – providing advice on all data related requirements; working with technical teams to make sure our clients’ systems are designed in accordance with the appropriate data architecture and policies.

Data Modelling:

An understanding of the concepts and principles of data modelling and an understanding of different tools to compare different data models (logical, conceptual and physical).

Data Standards:

Communicating the business benefit of data standards, championing and governing those standards, whilst acting as the escalation point for breaches of data standards.

Metadata Management:

Design and maintain the appropriate metadata repositories to enable the understanding of data assets : whilst designing data models and metadata systems.

Data Governance:

Understanding data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures.

Data Innovation:

Realising the impact of emerging trends on data tools, analysis techniques and data usage.

Data Problem Resolution:

Can log, analyse and manage problems to identify and implement the appropriate solution, ensuring that the problem is fixed.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to focus on outcomes rather than solutions and activities, whilst working with business and technology stakeholders to translate business data problems into viable solutions.

THE DESIRABLES:

Any Data Architect with visualisation tools, statistical/predictive modelling concepts, experience of industry tools and technologies, coupled with exposure to one or more architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF and/or Zachman) with a practical understanding of applying different Project Management methodologies; such as Waterfall, Agile or Iterative will be highly desired.
