THE BASICS:

You must already hold SC Clearance | Security Clearance

As Managing Architect (CTO) you will work for a Central Government Business Unit on a key critical large national database system.

As Managing Architect (CTO), you will be the keeper of the project vision. Your role is to make timely and decisive technical judgements to keep the project progressing towards the overall objectives including maintaining a roadmap for architectural transformation for the system. You will be responsible for defining and overseeing the design and development of solutions across this key account. You will be responsible for engaging with the client and business subject matter experts, technology experts and technical design leads within the account to identify, specify and design solutions for enhancements and changes to the current system whilst supporting the ongoing provision of the service to the service levels.

Some responsibilities include:

Ensuring that there is oversight of technology solutions in place across the account throughout their lifecycle;
Maintaining the architecture and requirements, acting as the point of contact with the client for all requirements, architecture and design interactions;
Liaising with the wider teams in the business unit and the wider UK business to share intel, develop ideas, re-use technology solutions and seek support as required;
Acting as a trusted adviser to the client and business providing a view of propositions and solutions in delivery and relating these to business goals and challenges;
Taking a pro-active role in developing proposals, thought leadership material and engaging with the customer to demonstrate value and innovation;
Ensuring that the account maintains technology design processes which deliver solutions efficiently and effectively;
Taking the lead on ensuring that solution / design related matters arising from any issues identified in operating the services are communicated to the solution teams.

KEY SKILLS:

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate experience of:
Working on secure government systems, working with large complex database systems
Architectural leadership with application design and development
Product selection and integration
Infrastructure, hosting and networks

Ideally, you will also have some of the following:
Experience of deploying products onto enterprise systems
Experience of Policing/Criminal Justice sector
Experience of re-architecting operational systems along with Security architecture
Data modelling and data design, team leading/management
Exposure to Oracle database technologies
Knowledge of service oriented architectures such as Oracle Weblogic, Oracle Service Bus or other Application Server technology
