Applications Support Analyst | Reading | Bridgend | Up to £60,000

This position would suit either an experienced PL/SQL Developer/Support Analyst who would like exposure to Oracle Database Administration; or as an all-round Oracle database specialist who does not mind a challenge and would like to work on a large programme that has a positive impact on safeguarding UK Citizens.

THE BASICS:

This role can be based from either the Reading or Bridgend Office.

As Applications Support Analyst you will provide application support and Database Administration.

This typically comprises Application Support to identify data anomalies and code defects; PL/SQL and SQL statement tuning; Application releases and deployments together with Database Administration; Capacity Planning; Performance Monitoring and Tuning.

You will react to and resolve incidents via Remedy (ITSM) call management system with strict SLA deadlines and perform planned releases both in and out of core business hours supporting a bespoke application.

KEY SKILLS:

You will have thorough experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, Support Analyst or DBA.

Good knowledge of PL/SQL is a must; exposure to Oracle partitioning, RAC, Dataguard and RMAN would be advantageous.

The database is Oracle 11g running on Unix. Suitable training can be provided, and Oracle Certification would be encouraged.
