Application Security Lead | Contract | Nr. Uxbridge
We are looking for an Application Security Lead for a global technology brand undergoing major digital and security transformation initiatives across Europe.
This is a hands-on contract opportunity for an experienced Application Security professional who can operate comfortably across architecture, engineering, governance, and stakeholder engagement. You will act as the security lead across multiple project streams, ensuring secure-by-design principles are embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
The successful Application Security Lead will work closely with development teams, project stakeholders, third-party suppliers, and internal security functions to improve application security maturity across the enterprise landscape.
This contract is initially for 3 months, with strong potential for extension.
THE BASICS:
As Application Security Lead, you will:
- Conduct application security assessments and security design reviews.
- Support project teams with secure architecture guidance.
- Drive secure SDLC implementation across multiple initiatives.
- Oversee application penetration testing activities and remediation tracking.
- Translate security policy into practical technical controls.
- Support threat modelling and secure design workshops.
- Work with development teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Help improve security governance, auditing, and assurance processes.
- Contribute towards the wider Information Security strategy.
THE EXPERIENCE:
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate experience with:
- Application Security & Secure SDLC.
- Security Architecture & Design Reviews.
- OWASP, NIST CSF, CIS or equivalent frameworks.
- Threat Modelling methodologies.
- Azure & AWS cloud security.
- Penetration testing remediation management.
- Secure coding principles.
- Containers & serverless technologies.
- GDPR, PCI-DSS and wider compliance frameworks.
THE IDEAL BACKGROUND:
You may currently work as a:
- Application Security Lead
- AppSec Consultant
- Security Architect
- DevSecOps Lead
- Senior Application Security Engineer
- Cloud Security Consultant
Previous experience within large enterprise environments is highly desirable.
THE CONTRACT:
- Role: Application Security Lead
- Contract Length: Initial 3 months
- Location: Nr Uxbridge, UK
- Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days onsite
- Day Rate: £500+ per day (dependent upon experience)
- Start Date: ASAP
