2nd Line Engineer | Nr Guildford | up to £32,000

THE BASICS:

In this role you will report to the Service Desk Manager and mentor Level 1 Engineers.

If you can aid in the resolution of major incidents, assure regular and timely responses, based on customer SLAs and develop and document procedures & technical resolutions as part of building a training library, we would like to hear from you. 

Engineers who can monitor, update, escalate and close; process overflow calls during periods of high demand and complete changes to customer environments following a change management process will be of interest.

THE TECHNICAL:

2nd Line Engineers with at least a couple of years of experience in a similar role, providing support both internally and externally, and can logically take a user through a step-by-step problem-determination-procedure either in person, over the telephone or IM chat should apply.

If you also have experience working with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and working to defined SLAs and KPIs, you will be of interest to our partner.

Essential skills:

Microsoft Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite 2013/2016, Exchange, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Active Directory, Office 365, SharePoint.  

Beneficial skills:

VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix, SQL Server, SolarWinds, Microsoft SCCM, Intune, Azure.  

THE ADDITIONAL:

In addition to everything else, if you understand TCP/IP networking and of ITIL workflows and practices covering Incident, Problem, Change and Request Management you are likely to receive an immediate interview request.

THE CONCLUSION:

Engineers with an astute attention to detail – confident to pursue necessary investigations and apply theories to ensure integrity of data and systems, coupled with an ability to prioritise and meet required deadlines as well as possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills will be sought after.

Client-facing skills with an emphasis on delivering an excellent customer experience, whilst being able to thrive in a busy working environment, multitask and problem solve, with high levelsof accuracy, good numerical ability and reporting skills will make this the ideal job role for you. 

Microsoft certifications, qualification inITIL, and/or an understanding of ISO 27001 principlesis desirable but not required.
